“ Food: we ordered Fried Chicken Sandwich, Chicken and waffles and Country Fried Steak. Everything was excellent! Chicken and waffles had a HOT HONEY drizzle which wasn't specified on the menu. My 11 year old son couldn't eat it, and the restaurant didn't even offer to replace it. Service: not great. Server wasn't friendly and seemed annoyed with us. Rest of the staff was nice. Ambiance: small and cozy. Has outdoor tables for the summer. I can imagine this place being very busy during the high winter season. ”

“ 4.5 stars, rounding up. My husband and I enjoyed breakfast at Social and Main on two separate weekdays while visiting Blowing Rock. If you're like us and are still lamenting the loss of Sunny Rock Eggs & Things, Social and Main is a close substitute. They are also much better than the previous restaurant at this location, El Rincon. Plus, it's an easy walking distance if you are staying downtown. You may need to hunt for a downtown parking spot if driving, however. Parking spots are plentiful, but not necessarily close to the restaurant. On the first day, I had the Charlie Sellers with scrambled eggs with cheddar, bacon (requested crispy), grits, and wheat toast. The eggs were light, fluffy, and decadently cheesy. They were probably the best scrambled eggs with cheese I've ever had, and I get this dish a LOT. The bacon was perfectly crispy. The grits weren't the stoneground kind, but were still seasoned well and tasty. On the second day, I had The Hammy, a giant omelet with ham, bacon, sausage, and cheddar cheese. I also got a biscuit, grits, and fruit ($4 extra). The omelet had a lot of meat, and could have used a bit more cheese (at least for my taste). The biscuit was "cat head" style--i.e., as big as a cat's head. It was fluffy and really good with butter. The fruit cup had a nice assortment of fruit. I could only eat half of my plate, and took the rest home for the next day. On the first visit, my husband had the Butch Triplett with eggs over-medium, corned beef, hash browns, and wheat toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly--no runny whites! The corned beef was crispy and extremely flavorful. I kept grabbing bites myself, it was that good! The hash browns were crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. We prefer them a bit crispier throughout, but they were still fine. My husband tried the Carl Freeman on the second day. Again, he had his eggs over-medium, and he chose the country ham, hash browns, and a biscuit. He added sausage gravy ($4 extra) on the side. Everything was good, but the sausage gravy was a bit thicker than I prefer. I need to mention the coffee. Many breakfast places serve weak coffee, but Social's version is strong and delicious. Our servers were efficient and friendly. They accept Apple Pay, too! This is definitely our go-to for breakfast in Blowing Rock. ”

“ We really enjoyed our brunch at Social on Main in Blowing Rock! It's definitely better than the Mexican/American place that was there before. The menu has lots of good breakfast and lunch options, and we all enjoyed our meals (I had the caprese sandwich with blackened salmon + pickled beets - others got the burger & fries, the club sandwich and the Reuben). The only reasons I have for giving it four stars instead of five are that the service was really slow (we were seated immediately but weren't asked for drink orders for at least 15, maybe 20 minutes), and the space is just a bit claustrophobic (I know they can't do much about that, and I'm sure sitting out on the patio on a warm day would be a better experience). Would definitely eat there again! ”

Small parking lot so plan in advance on busy days. Outdoor dining area as well but too cold in the winter. French Dip sandwich was excellent as well as the potato wedges. Definitely check this place out!! ”
